🌲 Roots of the Oak: Brotherhood, Endings & the Power of What We Leave Behind

“Roots of the Oak” is a four-hour virtual gathering designed for men/masculine people (or anyone who does not identify as a woman/ or feminine person) who are ready to reframe aging, mortality, and legacy as acts of ritual and power. For those who feel the weight of “heading” a family or community and want to prepare for the day they will cross life’s threshold. Whether you’re navigating a decline in drive, grief over losses, or questions of purpose, you’ll find a container of witness, care, and radical self-sovereignty. Through guided meditations, mythic storytelling, and open-hearted dialogue, we’ll:

  • Witness vulnerability without judgment— naming fears, loneliness, and shifting drives.

  • Reclaim the season of elderhood as a ceremony rather than a crisis, stepping into wisdom beyond physical prime.

  • Forge “anvil plans” (wills, letters, advance directives, and rituals) to protect loved ones and pass on your values.

  • Build brotherhood by naming our defenders, sharing ancestral guidance, and anchoring our stories in community.

What to Bring

  • A personal object that symbolizes your relationship with legacy or aging

  • A journal or notebook and pen

  • An open heart and willingness to share

Agenda Highlights

  • Welcome & Ancestral Calling: Inviting forefathers, mentors, and spirit guides into our circle

  • Opening and closing meditations

  • Deep Group Discussion: Conversations on loneliness, testosterone decline, the paradox of leadership, and protecting family after you’re gone

  • Be Seen, Be Heard: Paired sharing and collective witness

  • Emergency “Legacy” Playlist Game: Curating the soundtrack for your final exit

In this workshop, you will:

  • Learn about the dying process and the role of Advance Care planning.

  • Share openly about fears, belonging, and making peace with aging and death.

What not to bring:

  • Anyone that does not identify as a man/masculine person

  • Anyone under the age of 18. No children please.

  • a MAGA hat. This is not a safe space for Trumpers.

🌲 This is a space to be heard, seen, and supported. You don’t have to have any prior knowledge of death and dying, nor do you need to have experienced a recent loss. Attending with an open heart is enough! Come as you are. You matter and you belong.

(This is a non-religious, purely secular event).
